Spiritual Renewal for 2025
Here on this first Sunday of 2025, I have very high hopes for our morning and evening times of worship as we begin this year.
For Sunday mornings in January, I’ve felt the Lord leading us to have a time of spiritual renewal—using Ephesians 2-3 as our guide.
What do I mean by “spiritual renewal?” Throughout this month we’ll focus on centering or recentering our hearts on the life-giving work the Lord is doing in us each and every day. Ephesians 2:13 expresses this idea so well: But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ.
Then, for the first few weeks in February, we will combine our spiritual renewal with focusing on some important areas of vision for our church here at South Tulsa.
I expect these Sunday mornings will stretch us a bit—myself included—which I also expect will result in us seeing some great things from the Lord in our individual lives and in our church. I pray we will see many areas where the Lord is clearly at work in our midst so that we might readily join Him in it!
I’m also very excited for what God has in store on Sunday evenings this month. As always, our January Bible Study will feature great teaching along with some special times of worship. This year we are studying the life and book of Joshua, and we are thrilled to welcome our guest teachers John Plum, Ted Kersh (this is the 10-year anniversary of Ted and Jerri’s retirement from our church), Deron Spoo, and Hess Hester.
I pray you will join me in seeking the Lord’s direction for our hearts and lives as we begin this year and commit to be part of each of these great opportunities to grow in Him!
