Generosity Multiplied

Did you know that we have an all-church prayer time in the Worship Center each month on Saturday morning following the Deacons meeting? Last Saturday we prayed for all of the Missions/Ministry Partners that we support. What a blessing to reach out to each one asking how we can pray for them. Come join us next month on October 19 as we pray for our nation.

Some in our church family may not know how many mission partners we have, or how generous our church has been, allowing us to support the work they are doing. I am excited for our mission wall to be completed in the Atrium, for everyone to see the work that is being accomplished across the globe through your generosity. Did you know that our Mission spending generally is around 37% of our total church budget? Most churches are around 9%!

Through surplus allocations of funds from the end of the fiscal year, which the Stewardship Committee granted the Missions Committee, we were able to provide for several areas, in addition to our already wonderful Missions budget.

From our surplus, 5% was given to our International Mission Partners and 5% was given to five local churches that are part of the North American Mission Board Send Network. We matched the VBS offering that went to the Pearl House in Ghana.
Plus, an additional $165,000 was distributed to the following ministries:
  • Our ESL ministry, which is one of our best entrances into the lives of so many that need to hear the Gospel
  • Rising Village to help with start-up costs since recently being approved as a resettlement agency
  • Eden Village which was matched with a grant providing two tiny homes for those experiencing homelessness
  • Stephen and Lee Anne Griffin (Casa Nueva Vida in Guatemala)
  • Venezuela
  • Jenks CarePoint for extra needs
  • The Ministry Center for the extra utilities cost

What a wonderful way to end our fiscal year!
