The Church @ The Ministry Center

“Now you are the body of Christ, and individual members of it and God has placed these in the church” (1 Corinthians 12:27).

Recently, a volunteer at The Ministry Center shared that Tuesdays are one of his favorite days of the week because he spends them serving with us. Sean, who came to us in January, found himself volunteering because his good friend asked him to serve with him. Their church membership is not with South Tulsa Baptist; however, they are members of the body of Christ.

The Church is not just the local body of believers but a universal church, composed of all believers everywhere and from every age. God-appointed positions within the body are something we experience every day at The Ministry Center. God not only brings us clients, but He sends us volunteers. We see Him at work there all the time as He places the perfect client with the perfect volunteer to minister to both hearts in the way only God can. We call those “God appointments.”

Sean grew up near our facility and shared that before volunteering he would see individuals walk down these streets and wouldn’t give them a second thought. He says, “Now I know their names, and they share their stories with me. I know their struggles and pray for them.”

When we step out of our comfort zone, we allow God to grow us. We learn to trust Him and allow God to work in our hearts in the way only He can. In the end, we are reminded that we are all just people. We look different, sound different, and live differently, but in the end, we are all people who need a Savior.

With the start of in-house church services in April, we have begun to experience the joy of filling our facility with praise and worship songs, collectively praying over individuals, declaring truth from the Word of our Lord, and coming together as The Church.

Thank you, Church family, for your prayers and support as we continue to share the message of Hope found in our Savior Jesus Christ.

“And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts” (Colossians 3:14-16).
