Heartfelt Thanks

Recently our college ministry went to Falls Creek in Davis, Oklahoma for Collegiate Week. The week was filled with worship, meaningful conversation, time in God’s Word, and so much more. We heard from speakers like Tommy Woodward, Shane Pruitt, and H.B. Charles, and each night we went to bed knowing more about Jesus than we had before.

One of the main themes was that our mission fields are also wherever we are in the moment. Being a missionary does not have to be solely confined to moving across the country or across the world. As college students, we have a huge mission field right under our feet. Whether it be our place of work, our school, or our hometown, we can be missionaries right where we are. I loved this idea because for so long, I defined missions as travelling to a new place to share the Gospel. I never really simplified it down to sharing with those in my own community. I was also so blessed to be surrounded by a generation of students solely for the purpose of worshiping and learning more about Jesus. Shane Pruitt frequently calls our generation the “revival generation,” and I fully believe we are, especially after seeing the passion all these students have for the Lord.

Overall, I am just so thankful for the opportunity we had to attend Collegiate Week. School can be challenging and being able to get away for a few days and spend time with such a kind and welcoming community is so helpful. I built new relationships with believers from all parts of the country. I was able to sit down with them and hear their amazing testimonies, as well as how Jesus was working in their lives, which was beautiful and eye-opening. Lastly, I am incredibly grateful for the relationships that South Tulsa Baptist Church has blessed me with. Our group played games and laughed together, worshipped together, and prayed together, and I am beyond happy to be able to call these people and South Tulsa my home. Thank you, Jesus, for an amazing week at Falls Creek!
