Stand and Show We Care—With CarePortal
Did you know that at any given time, there are approximately 6,000 children in foster care in Oklahoma? On this Stand Sunday, it can be difficult to imagine how you can make a significant difference for children and families impacted by the child welfare system.
We’re happy to share that there are several ways that you can help! Many of you may already know about the national system called CarePortal. This is an electronic platform that makes it simple and easy to help families in crisis right here in South Tulsa. Our church has been a part of this outreach for over 8 years and has helped meet numerous needs within our community. Now as a CarePortal “Connecting Church,” we are linking arms with other churches in our community to increase our impact even farther. If you are interested, there are a few different ways to get involved…
These are just a few ways to make a lasting impact for children and families in the foster care system. Through this program, we show foster care families in our own community that STBC cares about them! No one person can do it all, but each of us can do something to support those in crisis right here in our own backyard.
Please stop by the Stand Sunday table in the commons to ask any questions and/or sign-up to get involved!
“Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me” (Matthew 25:20).

- Sign up to directly receive emails through the CarePortal system. Here you will be able to personally provide funds online to meet the requested needs (for example—a car seat, bus pass, utility bill or clothing), also providing an option to connect with the family’s case worker and family in need!
- Shop for needed items and/or help deliver items already donated—getting them to where they’re needed most!
- Give to our Adoption and Foster Care designated fund. This would allow the Adoption and Foster Care Support committee to meet the needs of families so that every child can have a home.
