Home > Ministries > Adults > Women

We believe the role of women in the body of Christ is vital. At every juncture women are leading teaching, mentoring, sharing, lifting, guiding, supporting, cradling… some in structured roles, many in unstructured, unseen roles. That’s what women do. Women serve in the image and humility of Christ. We strengthen and build up the core of Christ’s establishment, the church.

Women’s Ministry Goal
The goal of the Women’s Ministry is to connect women with other Christian women in and outside of the church family. We hope to do this by meeting the different needs of women through fellowship, encouragement, mentoring, Bible study, supporting and enriching a woman’s personal spiritual growth.

On September 18, 5:30-7:15 p.m. in the Chapel, we will begin a seven week study, “Breathe” by Priscilla Shirer. One of the greatest challenges among women in our culture is taking time to stop and cease from all the activities and busyness and just breathe. We are in bondage to busyness. It is time for us to build margin into our lives for God. If you are weary, worn out, and exhausted; the concept of Sabbath will change your life. Sharon Villareal and Debby Arnold facilitating. Arts & Crafts Expo | November 2, 2019

Each year in November our Women’s Ministry hosts the Arts & Crafts Expo. Last year we had over 60 vendors and are hoping for just as many this year. There will be a variety of items available including home decor, jewelry, baby items, local photography, woodcraft items, and much more! The vendors are from Tulsa and surrounding communities. There is also a wonderful basket auction. It’s a great opportunity to do some holiday shopping, while supporting a great cause. All of the proceeds, plus 10% of all vendor’s sales go to support our Student Spring Break Mission Trip to Belize.

Join us in Fellowship Hall from 10:30 a.m. to noon for a wonderful brunch as we welcome Andrea Graver, director of Defending Dignity and Susan Cox, director of DaySpring Villa. They will share how their ministries serve women living and working in an industry where they are sexually exploited and often victims of trafficking right in our area! We will learn how our church can play a role in sharing the love of Christ to these women who God delights to love. One way to help is by bringing items needed to fill backpacks provided to women by Defending Dignity. Each backpack contains (list) essentials like: travel size personal hygiene items, small Bibles or devotionals, notes of encouragement, etc., with a list of resources to contact when they need help leaving the industry. Bring your donations to the brunch on November 9. The cost for the brunch is $5, all of which will be donated to Defending Dignity. Preschool childcare will be available by reservation.
