In the Stillness

In the stillness of the forest we are reminded of God’s greatness. As I reached Wheeler Peak, I saw God’s presence in creation. As the sun rose and spilled into the sky, I was in awe of its beauty, and I began to think of how nature has a quiet way of teaching us how to worship God. It was a reminder that God made each and every one of us in His own image. This got me thinking about how many of us take our existence for granted, or how often we don’t give the Lord thanks for the simple things in life. Oftentimes, our flesh deceives us into thinking that we are not worthy of having a relationship with God.

As I see His creation, I am reminded that God sent His own beautiful son, Jesus, to die on the cross for us so we could live freely in his presence.  Psalm 19:1 says, “The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.” The same God who created heaven and earth awaits us to join Him in a holy relationship. Just as nature worships the Lord, we too are called to worship and serve Him. Nature does not hurry, worry, or doubt; it simply exists in harmony with the Creator’s design. By observing it, we learn that true worship isn’t just about words or rituals, but about living with awe, gratitude, and a heart turned toward God in every moment. Every creation displays the splendor of our God. We were all made beautifully and fearfully by Him. Every day, I am thankful for Jesus and His presence around us.
