Why Do We Serve?
Helping children learn about and participate in missions has become part of who I am. When my oldest daughter was four years old, I began teaching her Mission Friends class. When she went to GA, I did too. I have had a few years off here and there, but I always seem to return. It has been a joy to see young girls participate in GA, learn how to tell their friends about Jesus, go on mission trips, serve on the mission field, and even grow up to become GA leaders.
“I love teaching GA because I’ve always had a heart for missions. I enjoy seeing the girls learn about and even go on mission trips. Showing them missionaries that grew up in our church is very exciting.” ~ Marsha Anderson
“I believe that young boys need a time to be just boys. At the same time, showing them how they can serve and be like Christ as we discover how we can be missionaries locally and around the world through projects and just plain fun.” ~ Jonathan Storms
We are blessed at South Tulsa to have Mission Friends (age 3-K), Royal Ambassadors (boys grades 1-6) and Girls in Action (girls grades 1-6) on Wednesday nights from 6:30-7:15 p.m. during the school year. Children grow closer to God as they discover their part in His plan.
“I enjoy learning about missions right along with the girls. The small group setting allows you to build relationships and have fun together. I also love getting to know the women who help teach in GA. It’s all about missions and relationships!” ~ Kim Osborne
Our theme this year is Unshakable. “My dear friends, stand firm and don’t be shaken. Always keep busy working for the Lord. You know that everything you do for him is worthwhile” (1 Corinthians 15:58 CEV). We will apply this verse in our lives, and in our community, as we learn about having an unshakable faith in God and His promises.
Will you join us? Men and women are needed to lead on Wednesdays. Contact Kim Hayes, email@example.com.
