Vision Update

Eric Costanzo

It has been nearly a year since we celebrated becoming debt-free as a church and soon after had our “Vision Gathering” to celebrate and prayerfully seek the Lord’s leadership for the future of many areas of our church.

Below I want to highlight four key areas where God has been working and continues to work in pulling us forward to accomplish His Kingdom purposes. I encourage you to please read every word!

MISSIONS – INTERNATIONAL AND LOCAL: We have invested more into missions in this last year than any other area of our church or its ministries. The fruit is evident. We have seen a new church plant begin at our campus in Santa Maria de Jesús, Guatemala, pastored by members Mario and Paige Miño, and several new global partnerships are developing in Asia. We also had 30 of our members complete the 15-week Perspectives course. The Ministry Center and Jenks CarePoint continue to serve hundreds of households each month and the ministries at each center continue to expand. The Ministry Center was able to renovate the entire guests’ lobby and children’s area, and we also purchased and cleared two adjacent properties.

FAMILY MINISTRY: The top priority of our Family Ministry Team is our MinistrySafe training and program implementation in every area of our church where children, teenagers, or vulnerable people are being served. As a leading church in our state and denomination, we have also agreed to be one of the pilot churches for the SBC’s “Caring Well Challenge.” More will be coming on this, but for now you can preview the materials and goals at www.churchcares.com.

FACILITIES: The Worship Center sound continues to be excellent after the installation of our new sound panels. The Chapel renovations are complete, and the space is incredible. The Atrium and Fellowship Hall have new flooring and new paint, and several of our Bible Study classrooms have been updated and improved. In this next year, we plan to renovate several bathrooms and continue to update classrooms and other areas as God provides resources. With our new church logo having been released this week, look for changes to signage, print, and media throughout the church.

GIVING: We are on pace to have the highest general fund giving year on record, and 31% of our budget has gone to missions – not including nearly $150,000 given to missions through the Lottie Moon and Annie Armstrong offerings. We just approved a $3.68M Ministry Financial Plan for 2019-2020 that is highly focused on missions and relationships in order to reach others for Christ. Our Stewardship Committee is working on a 7-year “investment plan” into our Legacy Fund that will help our church be prepared for ministry and facility needs in the future that may be unforeseen.

KEEP PRAYING FOR: A genuine harvest of people of all ages who are coming to faith in Christ and following with believer’s baptism. God’s protection and strength for our church members and partners all over the world who are facing significant persecution. Our college and young adult ministry to continue discipling and reaching young adults. God’s wisdom and leadership for our church – our people, mission, ministries, and new opportunities.

REMEMBER: We continue to encourage intergenerational fellowship and relationships through our “Family Gatherings.” JOIN US TONIGHT for our Summer Gathering and family picnic!
