The Blessing of the Hudson Family

Eric Costanzo

I could not be more excited that God has brought the Hudson family to us here at South Tulsa. We have made several excellent hires on our staff in the last two years, and Zack will undoubtedly continue that trend.

Believe it or not, I first met Zack when we were 10 years old and in the same 4th grade class. At that time, Zack and his mother attended Trinity Baptist Church in West Tulsa and my family did not attend church regularly at all. Thankfully, God intervened in our families and brought us together at First Baptist Church of Jenks, where Dr. Glenn Plum was pastor. For many years we worshiped and served together and watched each other experience key moments in our spiritual journey. Zack and I were called to ministry around the same time and did lots of teaching and leading together throughout high school.

We eventually ended up going to the same college - Oklahoma Baptist University. We went on to attend Southwestern Seminary together, and even graduated on the same day. Having clearly not had enough of each other, we also served on staff at the same church – First Baptist Watauga (North Ft. Worth).

Our families have also been intertwined. We were in each other’s weddings, and shared in the birth of some of our children together in Ft. Worth. Zack is married to Charlyanne, who is an incredible woman of God. She loves the Lord, she is a tremendous wife and mother, and she is committed to her own call to serve Christ. Zack’s mother, Wanda Hudson, is also a member of our church and serves in our Ruth’s Open Door class.

During all these years, Zack and I have talked many times about our shared heart for Tulsa and its people. Zack’s gifts, abilities, skills, and education will add so much to the ministries of our church. Even more, his entire family will bless us and others. Thanks be to God for this wonderful reunion!
