Snack Ministry

On Thursday, August 3, Jenks Public Schools will hold their back to school registration event for international students. We are being asked to provide volunteers to help. We will need people to help from 2 to 5 p.m. and/or 5 to 8 p.m. The first shift will help with set-up for the event and the later shift will help with clean-up.  Both shifts will help with greeting families, serving refreshments, helping with children’s activities, etc. The event will be held at the Jenks Math & Science Center at 205 E. “B” Street. If you can volunteer to help at either of these times or need more information, please let me know as soon as possible. Click here to join us and help Share the Good News in our Community.

Our snack ministry was launched with the Jenks Public School’s English Language Learner (ELL) program as part of our Refugee and International ministry. On Mondays and Wednesdays 36 students will now receive snacks packed in special bags from our church. The bags are packed on Monday mornings at the church,

A teacher sent this message: “Thank you so much for bringing snacks for our English Language Learner students who attend after school tutoring. They were so excited! The girls really liked the heart shaped pretzels! Your church has truly blessed these precious children. Thanks for your generous gift to our students.” The students featured on the cover are from Myanmar, Syria, Iraq and Turkey.

Contact Carolyn in our church office if you can help.
