Preparing for the Future
I’ve been thinking about the word “family” a lot these days. Being a grandparent seems to cause me to reminisce about raising my children and the privilege of being involved with our grandchildren. South Tulsa Baptist Church has been such a constant in the life of the Steen family. I can look back through the years and remember being a part of the young married class, becoming parents and watching our sons grow and take part in all the wonderful classes this church has offered. Then came the Empty Nester years, weddings, and now my grandson attends the Early Learning Program. What wonderful relationships have been forged throughout the years. The people of South Tulsa Baptist are part of my family.
Our Vision Gathering, which takes place on Sunday, October 7 is the next step in the history of this amazing fellowship of believers. Let’s come together as brothers and sisters in Christ to pray, plan and prepare for what God would have for us in the future. Our church has grown not only in size but in ministry opportunities. Every family member is important. We want to make sure we meet the needs of the youngest to the oldest. Let’s spend time around the table, talking, listening, and dreaming of ways to continue growing and sharing the Good News about Jesus.
Adults will gather in the gym while children enjoy fun activities in Fellowship Hall. Preschoolers and children will love visiting the Dreamcatcher Petting Zoo on the back property. Pumpkins will be decorated and children will enjoy pizza for dinner. You and your family will not want to miss this special gathering. Everyone is welcome and needed. Have you made your reservation?
“…not neglecting to gather together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging each other and all the more as you see the day approaching” (Hebrews 10:25).
