Happy New Year!
For some of us a new year means a new chapter to write, a breath of fresh air from maybe a year that wasn’t filled with fond memories. Good or bad, it is usually exciting to kick off a new year. I wanted to share what my wife wrote concerning our family and the last few months of 2018:
Today is the last day of the year of complete change. We started the year in Watauga, Texas with a great church, a few great friends, and totally established in our community. Before all the change, we cherished every moment. We enjoyed watching Karah play kickball and our boys play baseball. We found out we were expecting our 6th baby. We enjoyed the summer with our church family and on family vacation, and then we quickly executed the long anticipated, world-flipping move from Watauga to Tulsa. Within four months, Zack accepted a whole new position at a new church in a different state, we moved into a very temporary home, closed on our first house, moved everything we owned into our new home, got everything settled and ready to welcome a new baby (all thanks to many from our new church family), and welcomed that new baby into the world and our family. Driving through our new hometown the other day I told Zack, “nothing is the same,“ but there are actually two things that stayed the same: we serve an unchanging God – He is the same yesterday, today, and forever – and the Hudson’s are still together, plus one :) . Here’s to a much calmer 2019. ~Charlyanne Hudson
I loved that she could recognize the importance of God holding us together as a family in the midst of so much chaos. What a great reminder that no matter what we find in 2019, we are not alone. God is with us and has provided a fellowship of believers to take care of each other along the way.
