Far from Home

Karen Pirtle

For the past several months, we have been hosting young men from Southeast Asia who are here for training at an aeronautics school. We have had several people from our church family serve in this ministry. When we wonder what in the world is going on here with COVID, isolating us in our own little bubbles, there are people far from their homes trying to go on with their lives, just like us, but without the comfort of a Savior to walk with them.

Recently we hosted over 30 young men for a Mid – Autumn festival lunch. They were so excited to receive the home cooked Oklahoma barbecue ribs and Moon pies, traditional food for the festival. A devotion on righteousness was shared from John 3:16. It was a good day!

Thank you for your prayers and the support of our missionary friends and other South Tulsa folks who minister to this group – providing good food and meeting needs.

If you would like to be part of this ministry, just hanging out, grocery shopping with them, sharing a bit of your life with those here from around the world, let me know and I can get you set up.
