Don't Face Struggles Alone
by Matt Wolff
I would not be where I am today in life without a good support system surrounding me. This support system starts with my wife and family, then goes out to a network of personal friends and Sunday Bible Study class. This support extends even to my entire church family. I simply would not be where I am today without you all in my life.
In our culture, I feel so many individuals and families are missing that support system in their own personal lives. So, when struggles, stresses, anxiety and loss occur in their lives, they simply don’t have a “safety net system” surrounding them to endure the hardships they face.
If you are finding yourself in this exact situation, let me encourage you with some wisdom. Don’t try to face life’s struggles alone – find support. We all need help at times in life. A great place to start in getting support is found right here in our church. GriefShare is a ministry that is specific for helping individuals who have suffered a loss in their life. This ministry has personally helped my family with the loss of my father last year. They offer individual or group care to help bring peace and comfort during your grief process. I am also thankful for our Stephen Ministers who are well-trained lay leaders, working with people who are walking through difficulties with life. This is a biblically based process of care and ongoing support that our church offers to help in your time of need. God has declared, “It is not good for man to be alone.” Let me also encourage you to find a group of believers who can help you grow spiritually. It’s important to find a Sunday Bible Study class to get plugged in to.
“And let us be concerned about one another in order to promote love and good works not staying away from our worship meetings, as some habitually do, but encouraging each other” (Hebrews 10:24-25).
