Dave Bender has been blessed to serve as Minister of Administration & Media at South Tulsa Baptist since July of 2007. In addition to serving a wonderful church, Dave leads a great team to coordinate the financial, food services, facilities, media, publications, communications, website, information technology, and overall operations areas to support the many ministries of our church.
Dave was ordained to the ministry in November of 2003 by Village Baptist Church in Oklahoma City. He is certified as a Certified Church Administrator by the Church Network (formerly the National Association of Church Business Administrators) and as a Church Business Administrator by the Baptist Leadership Network (BLN formerly SBCBAA) which he serves as president elect. Prior to Dave's call to full-time church ministry, Dave served in workplace ministry as Chief Operating Officer for an Information Technology consulting company in Dallas and as Assistant Controller, Director of System Development, and Manager of Worldwide Information Technology for an Exploration & Production Company in Oklahoma City. Dave served as a Deacon, Sunday Bible Study Director/Teacher, and lay leader at Prestonwood Baptist in Dallas and Village Baptist in Oklahoma City during his workplace ministry.
Dave and Cindy have been married 40 years and are blessed to have 3 daughters and their husbands and 4 grandsons and 2 granddaughters. Our daughters, Emily, Allison, and Blaire, all graduated from Oklahoma Baptist University. Emily and Brian are parents to our oldest grandson, Ben, live in the Fort Worth area. Emily has her CFP and is a Vice-President at Fidelity. Brian works for American Airlines. Allison and Eric have their Masters and teach English as a Second Language (ESL) and have blessed us with our grandson, Lukas, and grandaughter, Kyra. Blaire, Jon, Chloe, Gibson, and Charlie live in Edmond. Chloe is our oldest granddaughter and Charlie is our youngest grandson. Blaire has her Masters in Nursing Education. Her and Jon work at OU's Medical Center.
Dave's life verse is from Colossians 3:23-24 - "Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance. It is the Lord Christ whom you serve.” Dave and Cindy enjoy serving at South Tulsa Baptist Church and supporting the many ministries Sharing the Good News of Jesus in our community and around the world.
