A place of service and blessing
In a church the size of South Tulsa, opportunities for service abound. It is quite possible that you serve as a Bible study teacher, a children’s choir or missions leader or as a volunteer in preschool. Perhaps you help with Wednesday meals, drive a golf cart on Sunday mornings or assist with Sunday worship in a nursing facility. In whatever way you serve, your role is vital in ministering to our church family as well as in reaching the lost.
But perhaps you aren’t currently serving or haven’t found a place of service to which you feel called. Allow me to tell you about Jenks CarePoint, and ask you to consider joining us in serving our community.
CarePoint is a place of help – dozens of individuals receive free clothing each day. CarePoint is a place of hope – each client has the opportunity to hear the good news of Jesus and His gift of salvation. CarePoint is a place of prayer – we pray over the needs of each person during their visit. CarePoint is a place of education – ESL, sewing and community education classes meet in our facility several times each week. CarePoint is a place of fellowship – just coming to shop is an opportunity for clients to enjoy time with neighbors and friends. CarePoint is a place of partnership – churches, schools, businesses and the community have come together in a unique way to provide the facility and supply an abundance of donations to help families in need.
To our volunteers, CarePoint is also a place of blessing. As we serve, we have the opportunity to meet faith filled people who, though they have very few material goods, live out what it means to “rejoice always, pray without ceasing, and give thanks in all circumstances.” In exchange for our service, we experience the presence of the Lord as we pray with people that know what it is to trust completely in God, because He is all they have. We share their joy as they thank God for blessing them with a life in this country, full of hope and free from threats of persecution and hardships that we could never imagine. And we are privileged to rejoice with them over new jobs, new homes and newborn babies.
I hope you will join us as we continue to serve through Jenks CarePoint. Blessings await!
