A New Day at South Tulsa is our church’s strategy to pay off our existing debt by the end of 2018, if not before. Additional funds that are contributed beyond the debt payment will be applied to our Capital Reserve for 2018-2019 projects for our church.
At South Tulsa, we believe God has called us to be excellent stewards, or managers, of all the resources with which we have been blessed. For the last several years, our church has been faithfully paying off debt that was obtained as a result of completing our current campus. We have been blessed with wonderful facilities, and every square inch has been dedicated to doing God’s Kingdom work each day of the week.
"With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible." (Matthew 19:26)
Church Debt Elimination - At our current payment rate, our debt was scheduled to be paid off sometime during 2021. On Easter 2017, we put into action a plan to pay off our current debt (beginning at around $1,850,000) in 18 months or less. This will free up some $38,950 monthly in our church budget to go towards missions, ministry programs, and church family needs. Our goal as a church is to eliminate debt and stay out of debt. UPDATE - As of June 15, We have been blessed with-
-$334,530 in pledged gifts,
-$537,833 in unpledged gifts,
-$500,000 in proceeds from donated house,
-$452,980 in budget payments,
which currently has resulted in $48,330 remaining debt
We have about $45,000 remaining pledges from our church family with outstanding pledges. We have $38,950 budget payments per month still planned thru June. With the pledged gifts, plus budgeted debt payments, we are on target to pay off debt in June, 2018. Our church family has approved our 2018-2019 Ministry Financial Plan with no debt payment. Financial stewardship training has been completed by over 56 church families and community members.
Personal and Family Financial Training from Scripture - We know that many families in our church and in our community are also likely struggling with debt constraints. So, as a part of A New Day at South Tulsa, we offered Financial Freedom (FF) and continue to offer Financial Peace University© (FPU) so that families can begin to experience debt elimination and financial freedom alongside our church emphasis. Here is a testimony to this training.
